Runtime error re CSInit (IE 6 latest build)

When loading some web pages I get error message:

    "A Runtime Error has occurred
    Do you wish to Debug?
    Line 16
    Error:'CSInit is undefined
    yes/no boxes"

Clicking "no" usually loads the web page with no apparent ill effects.

Clicking "yes" goes into a debugging program but provides no direction.

Sometimes the message will come up more than once on the same web page.

This is annoying, to say the least. Does anyone konw what it is all abouit and how to stop this from happening?

    Thanks. <img src=/S/thankyou.gif border=0 alt=thankyou width=40 height=15>

Re: Runtime error re CSInit (IE 6 latest build)

You can suppress messages telling you that the page author made a script error, but you can't actually fix the error. Most errors are so minor that the page works fine anyway. The options to display or suppress scripting error messages are under Tools>Internet Options>Advanced (at least on IE5.5).

By the way, Microsoft recently issued a security fix for the JScript (JavaScript) engine. If you installed that patch and this just started happening, it could indicate a problem in Microsoft's new code. Or it could just be a coincidence...

Thanks - I will give that a try. I clicked "Disable script debugging."
