there is a registry key to control it and for the registry-challenged among us, there is a com addin so you can control it from tools > options.

    Outlook XP - attachments security

It appears that Outlook XP has implemented Microsoft's all-or-nothing (but without the nothing) approach to e-mail attachments. That is, it will neither let me send nor receive .exe files (for example).

Does anyone know of a way to change this (in a non-Exchange environment). It appears controllable in an Exchange environment but not standalone.

    Thanks
