    Best PDA?

I am finally thinking about getting a PDA, such as the iPaq, Toshiba e7xx, or a Palm. What do you all recommend?

I would like my Outlook (contacts, and appointments, possibly email) to sync. I would LOVE if I could dump a PowerPoint presentation (no more than 1.5 Meg) on it and somehow hook up to a digital projector. To be honest, that is about it. With that in mind, what route should I go? How much do I have to spend? I have compared several models online, but still don't have a sense of what would be best for me to buy.

Look at the Sharp Zaurus.. my friend has the 5500... It is BEAUTIFUL... now that the 5600 is coming out, the 5500 dropped in price...

Eric, Take a look at the Dell Axim X5 models. There's almost always some sort of deal going on them.

Most any of the Pocket PC type will fill your request.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I noticed it is Linux. That would be my first Linux machine. No biggy, but is there anything I should take into consideration about that?

Does it work with Outlook? (Probably a stupid question...but do all PDA work with Outlook 2000?)

Yeah, Dell is calling my name... <img src=/S/dizzy.gif border=0 alt=dizzy width=15 height=15> Is Dell considered the best of the bunch? (Not that I want to spend the money for "best of the bunch")

Thanks. Is there "anything" I need to consider or watch out for, or is this pretty much a price decision? I do need sync with Outlook 2000...do they all do that? The specs for each don't explicitly say that...is it assumed for all of them?

Yes, it is linux... unless your gonna do some off the wall stuff, I wouldn't worry about it being linux. The outlooks thing I'm not 100% about. Try here:

Eric, I doubt that it would be considered best of breed. But when Dell gets involved there is inevitably downward pressure on prices. I'm sure their machines are good. Being Pocket PC powered you can be sure they'll synch with Outlook.

Thanks! I checked on their website and it looks like they give a Faculty discount for educators. Cool. (Guess this dude's getting a Dell...)
