Importing from Eudora (Outlook 2000/Win XP)

    Hi Gang,
I am trying to import from Eudora into Outlook. Worked fine on 3 machines. The 4th one keeps telling me the file is in use....which file? Eudora is closed and off line I am sure of that. Any other problem this might be?
    and,
Does anyone know how to export from Eudora. I went through all the menu items and can't find export anywhere. If Outlook does not want to import directly from Eudora, I will export from Eudora and import from text file.
    Thanks.

Try rebooting the pc with Eudora on it - it may still be locked.

Outlook Express will Import from Eudora, and from there you can easily import to OL.

    Hi Leif,
Tried this already without success. I wanted to export from Eudora but I just can't seem to find how. I went on their site, not useful.

John's solution above is one of a few options from Slipstick.

Re: Importing from Eudora (Outlook 2000/Win XP)

I used this method - in fact, it's the only way I know to import from Eudora to Outlook. Be careful what you import. I did not want to import the address book since I already had one. If you only want to import mail messages, choose the correct options.

Also, I found out that importing HTML messages using this circuitous route (Eudora -> OE -> OL) resulted in embedded HTML tags in the imported messages - a real pain.
