Spam filters (5/6)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a spam filter that works in outlook express and can filter multiple hotmail accounts?
Thanks

You might want to check out AdSubtract at http://www.adsubtract.com
It has filtering on your choice of locations and many types of filtering. It has a trial or you can purchase for about $20.00 US. I liked it enough to buy the full version. Another "cool" thing is that it intergrates into OE and has no separate setup or run to go through, When you start OE, then AdSubtract starts too. Works pretty good.

zave , have you thought of deleting off the ISP server .

Spam blockers can sometimes block the wrong things .

I prefer to view all my mail ( with PopPeeper ) before downloading it & delete what I don't want & downloading the rest .

Zave,

-----------------------------------------
As of now spamsubtract does NOT support hotmail
-----------------------------------------
Did you check AdSubtract, not spamsubtract?
In the filters section on my copy, I have two entries (both of which were supplied by AdSubtract) "hotmail.msn.com & hotmail.passport.com". You can also add others manually to the filtered sites.
It doesn't support the MSN V 8.0 browser yet, but you said you had OE.

this is a quote from their response to my question about support for hotmail:

Response (Mike) - 03/27/2003 08:15 AM
Spamsubtract does not support hotmail. We are not aware of any plans of supporting hotmail in the future. Thank You

I have in my Outlook Express 4 mail accounts. I an POP from my ISP and 3 hotmail accounts that OE checks automatically. How can I get SpamSubtract to recognize and filter the 3 hotmail accounts? Thank you Zave Rudman

I do not think you can use adsubtract to block spam as far as I understand.

Re: Spam filters (5/6)

Zave,
The rep HAS to be referring to the fact that AdSubtract doesn't support the hotmail Browser. It only currently supports OE, Netscape & AOL.
As I said, In OE, one of the option pages is "filtering". You can then add any hotmail type that you want to filter and also specify the TYPE of filtering.
The BEST way for you is to download the trial version and see for yourself.
