    Excel Data Comparison (Excel 2002)

    Hi. I have a range of data text cells on one worksheet, on one row. The "Variable Worksheet".

    I want to compare the Variable Worksheet data to rows of text data on the other worksheets in the same workbook to find matches. For example, if A1 in the Vairable Worksheet contains the word "Woody", I want to find that same word in each of the other worksheets. Is there a quick and easy way to do this?

    Thank you.

    This is not exactly what you asked, but you may find it useful: Jan Karel Pieterse's FlexFind utility - see <post#=231949>post 231949</post#>.

    Hi,

    Checkout this reference to Chip Pearsons great site;

    http://www.cpearson.com/excel/duplicat.htm...htingDuplicates

    under the heading "Highlighting Duplicate Entries". Its a simple effective solution.

    Good Luck

    Hans,

    Thank you for the suggestion. I tried it, but it didn't help with my problem. Also, it appears this toolbar cannot be uninstalled or removed from the "add-in" part of Excel. Do you know of any way to remove it? While I like it, it doesn't work at all in a networked environment. Worked great at home on my stand-alone PC.

    FlexFind is not an add-in, it is a normal (but clever) workbook. When you have created the toolbar, Flexfind will only be loaded when you click the button on that toolbar, it's not loaded when you start Excel. To delete the toolbar, right click it, select Customize... from the popup menu, select FlexFind in the list of toolbars, and click Delete. Confirm that you want to delete it, and that's it...
