    privacy (windows XP)

    how do you add a password to a folder so that the folder can only be accessed via that password ???

    First you must have your file system set as NTFS. Then right click on the folder and select Properties>Sharing and Security and check "Make this folder Private". You will be prompted to set a password for yourself if you don't already have one.

    Or you can you an encryption software. Freeware. There are several that work real good. I have WinXP with Fat32 file system and I use this one. Click Here

    Just remember you can't revert back to Fat32 from NTFS.
