Calculating Formulas from formulas (Excel 2000)

I have a formula that doesn't add up and I believe it is because I'm asking formula "b" to take the answer from formula "a" and then calculate the answer. I've attached an example. As you can see, cell E17 contains a formula that refers back to cell F9 which also has a formula. When we do the computation on a calculator, we get $998 but when we try to do it in Excel, we get $986. Same is for the one directly below it (should be $1331). How do I make a formula read only the answer from another formula to get a final total as in my example? Thanks!

Rounding error
When you use a calculator you multiply "4340.44" * "23%" to get "998.3012"
Excel is multiplying "4340.44" * "22.7272727272727%" to get "986.463636363635"

If you want excel to use only 2 decimal places for F9 use in E17:
=+D17*ROUND(F9,2)
and in E18:
=+D18*ROUND(F9,2)

or keep the formulas in E17 and E18 and use in F9:
=ROUND(F8/D8,2)
