Actually, in XP after you select the view you want, you need to do this:<UL><LI>In the menubar, go to 'Tools' > 'Folder Options...'<LI>Click the 'View' tab<LI>Under 'Folder views' click 'Apply to All Folders' button<LI>Finally, click 'Apply' > 'OK'[/list]

After setting it to details, Go to the menu "Tools, Folder Options" and then the View tab. Select Save as current", Apply and then OK.
Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
