    Accents (OE6 SP1)

    Good day:

    I would like to be able to create accented letters occasionally- the standard set , such as the `, ', ^, and so on. I know the keystroke combinations to do this in Word.
    These keystroke combinations do create accented letters in the TO:, CC:, BCC:, Subject: fields, but not in the message field.
    Any suggestions ?

    Ed

    I don't use OE to test this on, but does using the extended character set work (using Alt and 4 digits on the numeric keypad)?

    They work here! =

    Hi Ed:
    Here are some accented letters for you to try.
    First be sure your number lock is on;
    Then for each letter hold the alt key while you type the following numbers on the number key pad. You have to use the number key pad. When you let the alt key go you'll have the accented character.

    Jasuhill/ Lief:

    Works like a charm - I must confess that I had forgotten about the numeric keypad because I got a new laptop and the keypad isn't a separate set of keys. After I got your messages, I spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to enable the numeric keypad and now I'm off to the races !

    Many thanks to you both.
