How do I Maximize 'Open in New Window' folders? (Outlook 2002 / Windows XP Pro)

Hi. I set Outlook to startup with the Outlook Today page and the Folder List open. When I right click a folder (e.g. Calendar, Inbox, Task, etc.) on the Folder List and select 'Open in New Window', this always opens the selected folder to a new window about 1/3 the size of the monitor. I then have to click on Maximize, which is my preferred window size. How do I set Outlook so that everytime I 'Open in New Window' a folder, it opens Maximized already?

    Hi, Henry ~

This has worked for me opening a new message, so try this:<UL><LI>Open the selected folder as you describe<LI>Close all other Outlook and any Internet Explorer windows<LI>Maximize your folder window<LI>Now close the window one of these two ways:<UL><LI>Click the <font color=red>X</font color=red> in the upper right-hand corner while holding the 'Ctrl' key <LI>'File' > 'Close' while holding the 'Shift' key
<LI>Reopen Outlook and try it now
There are instances when windows will not remember maximized windows and if this becomes the case, repeat the same steps but instead of maximizing, merely resize the window as large as you can by dragging the lower right-hand corner.

    Henry ~

Make sure you are closing all other windows in IE & OL. The resizing method I described works fine on another machine here with OL2002.

Do NOT use the button in the upper right to "Maximize your folder window", but instead "Drag it" to the size you want.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Hi, Dave ~

Although this issue has already been resolved, the above indicated suggestion had already been included in post 239673 & post 239681.
