RTE 429 - ActiveX Component can't create object (Access 97)

Hi all,

I am attempting to send an email via lotus notes through access 97 however when I run the line of code " Set Session = CreateObject("Notes.NotesSession") " I get a run time error "RTE 429 - ActiveX Component can't create object" does anyone know how to get around this??

Hmmmmm...... is Notes a registered reference? (It doesn't have to be a 'set' reference in Access, if you are just using the CreateObject command, but it does need to be something the OS recognizes as a valid code object, that it can create.)

How can I figure this out? I have not attempted to get this to go before and I am a little out of my depth here so if you could explain what I need to do this would be great.

Well, I guess the best way is to see if you can actually set a reference to it, in the VBE. When you have a code page open, go to Tools, then References. Try to find 'Notes' (may be called Lotus Notes or something along those lines.) If you find it, set a reference to it. If you don't find it, you may need to find the appropriate .dll. For Lotus Notes I can't help you on finding the .dll, because I don't know what it is (the .dll that is, I know what Lotus notes are! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>).
