Occasionally I get e-mail in HTML format. If I am not connected to the Internet (56K modem), and I open Outlook and scan through my saved mail, every time I hit an HTML document, Outlook tries to connect.
Is there any way I can disable this "feature?"

To fix the dial up do as "jscher2000 " has stated.
What is happening, is there are images or other objects in the email which are links, and your system needs to connect to the servers for them to be displayed.
Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
