Fancy Quotes

Is there a quick and easy way to take an existing Word doc that has "straight quotes" and convert them all to "fancy quotes" <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=[question] width=15 height=15> I'm using Word 2000.

    Thanks,

    Re: Fancy Quotes

If by Fancy quotes you mean the same as Microsoft's Smart quotes, then you need to ensure that the Replace straight quotes with Smart quotes is checked in the Autoformat As You Type tab of the AutoCorrect dialog (That is the default, so maybe you can try the next step first).

Then just goto Edit, Replace and enter the straight quote in both the Find What and Replace With boxes and click replace all.

    Andrew,

Thanks.... worked fantastic. I was worried that doing it that way wouldn't recognize the right and left distinction like all the other programs I have, which I have had to do this individually... grrrr. You're a life saver...
