Can i delete this folder (Win 98)

I'm running Win 98 and did a upgrade to XP Pro and then when back to to 98.
I found this folder setup.pss under Windows with a sub folder setupupd and other folders under this one.
Would like to know if i can delete these safely?
    Thanks

I believe they are Microsoft { Product Support Services } or { .pss } Files. The Setupupd is { Dynamic Update storage location}. I'm not sure you need them but I don't know if I would delete them or not. Maybe someone else will know more about there uses then I do.

Try renaming it or moving it to a different location for a few days, and see if any applications complain. It's not a core part of Windows 98.
