Re: Fix for OE Crash Available (OE6SP1)

Thanks for posting this. Do you or anyone have any idea what this means:

"When you call the removeNode function in script code on a cached function pointer on the element style object, an access violation may occur in Iexplore.exe in the Mshtml.dll module. The access violation is more likely to occur as more function pointers on the Web page are dynamically created and then removed with removeNode."

This is the overview on the page you linked to. It makes no sense to me.

But at the moment while I am writing emails Outlook Express will suddenly vanish without warning or error message. Any mail I am composing is lost. Will this patch fix the problem I am having? I've noticed that most often OE disappears when I am pressing enter .

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Chris-

It's explained here and is aimed at fixing a vulnerability, I think rather than your problem of your message suddenly vanishing.

Re: Fix for OE Crash Available (OE6SP1)

Thanks for your reply. I had missed it. I'm still having problems with Outlook Express 6.0 disappearing. It seems to happen if I press enter twice in a row. As any one else experienced this kind of behaviour? Is there anything that can be done about this bug? It's really frustrating.

    Thanks,

    Chris--

You haven't said what OS you have, or version of IE or OE. If OE is disappearing for this length of time, not sure the reason, but you might want to consider an OE repair or IE repair or install. If you have Win 9X or ME, you can always try repairing at Add/Remove first. A number of them are recent links in the IE section, and a couple are here--but again some of them are OS specific.
