    Page View malfunction? (FP2002 SP-2)

I was working with a web host for one of my clients trying to get HIS server to function correctly with FP. We've been with that host several months and it's been a constant hassle. Won't handle even simple extension functions such as hit counter, and must use the FP ftp to upload files. Can't use FP directly on the web server. Never seen this before and his admin page shows FP extensions in place. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Without exception all the other web hosts I deal with have been very effective but this one is incompetent OR FP doesn't work with RedHat LINUX and the company doesn't have the knowledge to recognize and fix it. I've got no brief for any of those considerations. I'm moving the site to my web host in California, one that advertises sometime with Woody and does an excellent job...

We failed to get our present server to function. During that effort, my FP went fritzy or there is a mysterious setting that I accidentally bumped. Normally I work with the folders showing in the left narrow pane of the monitor and the subject page on the right, taking up about 3/4th of the screen. Now if I click on folder view folders are on both panes.

If I click Page view the full monitor window goes grey and no folders show. It's the dark grey seen when blank. For the life of me I can't figure this out. Task Pane will give me a page but I can't figure how to select the page I need to see and with no folders showing, how does one drag art to the page? Can't.

I've been working with Front Page through three versions! And I love it. Perfect for an old fool <img src=/S/gramps.gif border=0 alt=gramps width=20 height=20> in the middle of the Pacific Ocean who can't remember how to code a link from one day to the next! <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20>

Any good thoughts on that, please?

Sounds normal to me. I suspect you have toggled your View > Folder List setting.

That's the exact answer and you win the prize of the day, a free tour of our volcano. Unfortunately we can't include transportation. <img src=/S/thankyou.gif border=0 alt=thankyou width=40 height=15> There's a new photo of our lava on my web site, linked below.

My mind freezes far more often than my computer and 'folder list' is as good an example as I can think up. But you re-booted my brain this morning and I'm most appreciative.

    Aloha from the middle of the Pacific Ocean . . <img src=/S/sailing.gif border=0 alt=sailing width=25 height=25>.
