    Animation of Table cells (2000)

I wonder if there is any way of animating the individual cells of a table. I have a 2 column by 4 row table on a slide, and would like to reveal each cell one at a time. All I've been able to find so far is chart animation. A long-winded workaround would be to have multiple slides with progressively more information, but that seems a waste of effort and space. Any ideas?

How about putting the table cell contents into individual text boxes? Low tech, but easy to animate.

Tables are considered one object. You'd have to ungroup the table in order to animate the separate cells.

If you don't mind breaking the table into individual textboxes, select the table and then ungroup it from the Drawing toolbar. Then animate each text box.

If you want to keep your table intact, make the table no fill with font color to match the background or to match a colored box behind the table. The fonts will appear invisible. Now draw a box over the first cell you want to reveal. Make it the size of the cell. Use Snap To Shape to help. Color the box a contrasting color of the font and animate it to appear on a click. Copy the box to all the other cells in the order you want them revealed. Snap To Shape being on and CTRL+drag helps speed the process. Now send the shapes just behind the table. The fonts should now appear. Run the show and, at first, you should not see the cells, but click to reveal each one.

There you go. Did that work?
