    Tool tips in Word (2002)

    Hello,

I want to create a Word doc and have text appear in a yellow balloon when the cursor is moved over a certain spot on the screen. Microsoft apps do this all the time. Can I use this (I believe it is called tool tips) feature in a Word doc I create?

    thanks,
    Chuck

I don't think so. You can insert comments, which appear by default in Word 2002 as colored balloons in the margin.

My guess is NO, not exactly. However, you can write some code that could probably do what you
want (or close to it) when the user changes the selection. IOW, the user would have to "select"
the text, then your ballon (Assistant-based) or textbox could appear with the "tooltip".

You could also sorta do this with autotext, but that could cause more problems than it solves.

I think your idea is a good one. MS should add a field code that simply displays tooltip text.
