    Stopping a macro (XL97/WinNT4)

I followed a link given in this thread and picked up a copy of one of the 'useless things to do with Excel', something they call a screen soother, which involves setting a macro going that will never stop. It's great fun and I've been playing with it to learn how it works, but I need to find a slightly more elegant way to stop it than simply killing it with Esc or Ctrl-Break!

Is there anyway one can put a 'macro stop' button on one's toolbar? Something like the stop button that is on the macro toolbar that comes up when you're recording a macro?

    One would be very grateful! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

There is no Macro Stop button that I am aware of other than Ctrl/Break. What are you looking for that is "slightly more elegant?"

You could show a message in the status bar that says "Press ESC to stop"...

I expect that the macro could itself create a control and use event code to monitior the control.
