a huge office problem

Our Company is due to change name and it has fallen on the IT department to make all necessary changes to ensure that all software makes no reference to our old name after 01/04/01.
We have made many investigations and are preparing to do as much as possible through the NT Login as each user starts work in the new year.
We have however come up against the problem of the Company name in all office products. how can we change this without re-installing on each (300+) machine? The way that i understand it is that the name is part of the excel/word/....exe
Does anyone have any ideas how we can work this beauty out ?

Do a search in the General Office Solutions forum on "Company name" and "User name" - this will point you to some prior threads on this topic - hopefully you can some workable ideas from these.

There was an article in a recent issue of Woody's Office Watch that addressed this subject. You may want to go to the archives and see what you can find there. There was also a recent thread Here that discussed this subject. You may find some help there.
