    retrieve unsaved word doc (Word2000)

I was working on a word doc in Word2000 and deleted it before I saved it for some unknown reason. <img src=/S/crybaby.gif border=0 alt=crybaby width=15 height=15> I have Gateway Goback, and searched for versions of the file on my hd but I am not sure what I am looking for exactly. It's not crucial to retrieve it at this point, but if there's a way I'd like to know howin case this happens in the future.

What do you mean by delete? That you closed it without saving? If Word is still open, you might have a look in your Temp folder and in your AutoRecover path for Word (location is set in Tools/Options/File Locations). Your mileage may vary.

Yes, by delete I meant I closed it without saving. Thanks for the info on finding C:WINDOWSApplication DataMicrosoftWord, but only quite old temp files were in there. I can't retrieve this one, but if I use GoBack next time, I now know to look for .tmp files. I shall save my files from now on! This was just some odd thing that happened, I must have been thinking of something else to just delete it.
