Thread: Excel

The computer has Millenium as the operating system and Excel 97 as the spreadsheet. It is not on a network. Excel 97 was running when a power blackout struck. Now certain files that were open at the time of the blackout can only be opened as read only and they cannot be deleted. How do we remove the locks and delete the files?

    Re: Excel

There will be another file names exactly the same in the directory your excel files are located. Use 'My Computer' to open the directory, then go to View/Options and select Show All Files. You should be able to delete this file as long as the spreadsheet isn't open in Excel.

    Hope this helps!
