Extensions note lost (FP2002 SP-2)

Recently one of the fine folks here helped me and I've lost the mail sent! Forgive me. It had to do with FP extensions on my Big Island of Hawai'i web host using LINUX or UNIX but possibly not using the correct extensions. I did what I usually do to save that -- which was privately posted -- but it was lost. Please re-inform this old coot out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

Jeffrey, You had posted here another solution which was helpful as finally, the problem with my local web host was solved. Phew!

In my three years-plus of using FrontPage this was the only time I've had problems of this extent at the server end. While not true with other web hosts, it was revealed as necessary with this one to use the www in front of the domain name. They also had the wrong setup for ID and password, though there had been no effort from either end that they would admit to to have changed the one I had been using. Stuff like that. You get used to it these days as it is apparent that good help is very hard to find. These guys did stay with me, however, and after a two-week struggle we finally got it working.

Bottom line, these days perseverance is necessary. Being patient helps, too. And I've written letters of thanks to the host personnel. What else is an old man in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to do!

. . . plus thanks to all the help from Woody's Lounge
