    What kind of links. All links? Can you post one of the problem links? To get the link code, try using right-click and then Properties. Select the URL after Address and use Ctrl+C to copy it. Paste it somewhere safe right away in case IE dies again.

    Eli ~

    Considering your other posts and the problems you had with virii, tojans and nuisance apps, you may still have remnant .dlls, .exes or active contol content spinning your wheel trying to do something.

    You said you have SpyBot. Please click on the 'Tools' button and list what appears under 'Active X', 'BHOs', 'Process list', and 'System startup'.

    Re: IE^ Hangs (WinXP)

    Bruce,
    The listings in Tools is enormous. How can I copy and paste them - the Select All|Copy or Highlight |Control|Highlight doesn't work?
    Everything in ActiveX is either Green or unchecked: there isn't anything checked Red. I've deleted some startup data that I know I don't need but everything else is massive in terms of retyping it to you.
    Is there a reasonably simple way to get the data you've requested?
    Eli
    BTW, I've been out-of-town for the past week which is why I haven't replied sooner: I really appreciate your help.

    Hi, Eli ~

    Even better, do this:

    Open the attached zip and run it, then attach or post the results here.

    Hi Bruce:
    Not to get too offtopic, but could you explain a little what the attachment is? Did you create it or get it from somewhere?
    Thanks,

    Re: IE^ Hangs (WinXP)

    Hi, Eli ~

    Thanks for posting the results.

    There seems to be a lot of items in your running processes. I don't know if you just happen to have them running at the time of this capture, but it surely wouldn't hurt to disable from starting any items in your 'Process' list and your 'Startup' folder you don't need to automatically run in the background when Windows starts.

    What I do see as potentially causing your problem would be the 'Atomica' browser helper and the two unidentifiable browser helper objects. SpyBot version 1.2 with latest updates are not catching these??

    You may also want to remove any of the objects in your 'Downloaded Programs' folder you do not need or cannot identify.

    If anyone else can discern possible items of conflict from the above, please advise.

    Re: IE^ Hangs (WinXP)

    Hi, Phil ~

    It is a highly recommended program written by Merijn, a member of the Spyware Info support forums and author of 'HijackThis'.

    This version, 1.52.1 is the newest version of the efficient and effective program by Merijn that lists all and every autostarting app on your system. Checks Autostart folders, the Registry Run keys, Autoexec.bat, Stub Paths, ICQ Agent, Program extensions, Win.ini, System.ini, Wininit.ini, Wininit.bak, Winstart.bat, Dosstart.bat, as well as checking for duplicate instances of Explorer.exe and checking for superhidden extensions.

    Re: IE^ Hangs (WinXP)

    One place to look for BHO's is here. They identify:

    {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} = mnyviewer.dll = Microsoft Money

    However, {9964691b-e669-4a7b-ab1c-2b0a8641f5db} is not listed -- and therefore is suspicious. Lop and other undesirable BHO's are now using randomly generated CLSID numbers -- making them more difficult to catch.

    Most of the running processes don't look too suspicious. Pacs-Portal is a great site for checking out startup items. Here is a useful list of XP services -- I had to look up "fxssvc.exe" to verify it was the Fax service! Another interesting source of Running Programs is here.

    The Common Startup folder seems to be filled with a few useless links, but that should not cause the problem at hand. There is also a look of McAfee and Earthlink stuff running.

    This is the most suspicous thing I see:

    [OTPWEB]
    Launcher.exe = C:Program FilesKODAKOne Touch To Better PicturesLauncher.exe

    First off, Google has no reference to Kodak using a "Laucher" executable. Second, what is it doing hiding in the RunOnce key???

    There is a known spyware program from "DownloadWare" that uses the same name...

    Launcher.exe = "Spyware component related to DownloadWare and found in Program FilesKFH" (I think from Pacs-Portal originally).

    Eh...

    (no name) - (no file) - {9964691b-e669-4a7b-ab1c-2b0a8641f5db}
    (no name) - (no file) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC}

    I already explained one to you... and I am not sure you want to remove it.

    I would think you should use a BHO tool like BHODemon or BHOCop. I would not recommend you doing that manually.
