    Flawed formula, not sure (Excel xp)

    I want cell values under 30 to become a superior 2 and cell values under 50 to be concatenanted with a superior 1. The formula works some of the time but sometimes it doesn't. For instance, for a cell that has a 39 in it, i am getting a superior 2. I can't figure out what is wrong.

    =IF(E1370<"30","

    Try this:

    <pre>=IF(E1370<"30",E1370&"

    You are comparing a number to text:

    39<"30"

    Which always returns false.

    Change your formula to this:

    =IF(E1370<30,"
