Bugcheck and BSOD

I recently started getting a BSOD, apparently randomly. It is increasing in qualtity, however. <sigh> The Event Log shows the following message: "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xc0000005, 0x004c004c, 0x00000000, 0x004c004c). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: c:tempBSODMini031901-03.dmp."

I have no idea what a bugcheck is, what causes it, or what I can do to prevent it from happening. HELP!

Run a thorough Scandisk on all drives and see if that helps.

I did. It didn't. <img src=/S/sigh.gif border=0 alt=sigh width=15 height=15> I tried a repair of W2K, and will see if that helps.
