Outlook Today launches installer (Outlook 2002 SP 3)

I have a user who, when she tries to access Outlook Today, gets an MSOffice 2000 SR-1 Standard window that states "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Standard" Then, another error pops up: "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Standard. The Windows installer can not continue." She has no other problems with Outlook. Can anyone think of why this might be occurring, and what might be a possible solution. TIA.

Re: Outlook Today launches installer (Outlook 2002 SP 3)

Sounds like this was an upgrade that failed. When this has happened here we found Office 2000 components still listed in add/remove progrms. But they wouldn't uninstall. We had to use the install CD to remove Office 2000, then remove and reinstall Office XP. Pretty drastic measures; maybe someone else has a simpler solution. It might, for example, be a simple reg hack. Good luck!
