    Format ? (Access 2000)

In access 97 I use this format "*"99/99/00* to format my date field on a report. What this did was place an * before and after the date in a text box on the report. (I used this as a start/stop character for bar coding.) When I converted my db to Access 2000 it stopped placing the * before and after the date. Does any one know why? Does this format need to be modified? Thanks..

Your format looks more like an input mask than a format; I doubt whether this would have worked correctly as a format in Access 97.
Try *mm/dd/yy* or *mm/dd/yy*, depending on the way you want the dates to be shown.
