Sort by High Lighted Cells (Excel 97 SR-2)

I've tried searching but didn't find anything that answered my question: Is there a way to sort a column of numbers that have some of the cells highlighted in a color? I have a column with 2112 rows of numbers. Some of the cells are high lighted. There is no set pattern to the high lighting. Is there anyway to sort or filter so that all the high lighted cells are together?
    Thanks.

If you first sort the numbers, you can then run the macro written by SammyB in <post#=179114>post 179114</post#>.

By highlighted, do you mean the background color of the cell? If so, you will need to use the User-defined Function Andrew provides <!post=here,95626>here<!/post>, create a new column, copy the custom function down, and then sort on the column containing the ColorIndex. This will require a little familiarity with the Visual Basic environment, though it's not at all difficult to do. Attached is a simple sample.

Thanks. I'm not real familiar with Visual Basic but I'll give it a try. I like learning new things.

I evidently didn't use the correct wording in my search. Thanks for the help.
