    Footnotes and endnotes

Is There anyway you can have footnotes and endnotes in a document. When you insert them it seems that the choices are mutually exclusive

    thanks

Yes, you can have both, footnotes and endnotes. They are not mutually exclusive at all.

After getting into the Insert-Footnote Dialog, you have to choose whether you want to enter a footnote or an endnote, and choose numbering scheme, position of footnote/endnote, etc by pressing Options.

To avoid confusion between footnotes and endnotes, it makes sense to choose different numbering schemes (1,2,3 ... and i, ii, iii... for example) for both.

Include footnotes first; and then in Normal view, View Footnotes, copy the entire footnote pane contents to the end of the section or document as Endnotes. They won't be endnotes strictly speaking, but will serve your purpose, I hope.
