startup and shutdown screens? (windows xp)

Does anyone know where to download a program to make changing the startup and shutdown screens easier than in the registry? Thanks.

Xteq X-Setup will do that, and lots more. But, beware - it tinkers with the registry on you behalf, so similar caveats apply unless you know what you're up to.

Tim, are you sure that X-Setup will do that with XP? I know that it can change the screens in Windows 9x - but in 2000/XP it's controlled by the logon executable (although the wallpaper at the logon screen can be changed). I was thinking of LogonStudio from StarDock for XP.

Not sure if this is what you're after, but take a look at Logon Studio. It's

(Half a) You're right Mark - I'd slipped back to w98 mode. X-Setup can also change the screensaver (before user login), but that's it under XP. Seems like LogonStudio gets the consensus vote.
