Right Click Menu (Word 2000)

I edit documents which require a lot of cut/copy and paste operations, and I like to use the right click menu to do this. However, when doing the cut/copy and paste, one paste will sometimes result in a spelling (no space between words) or grammar error which the next paste will fix. However, when there is an error, Word changes the right click menu to the error correction menu which is missing the Paste function. Is there any way to get the normal right click menu when there is a spelling or grammar error?

Re: Right Click Menu (Word 2000)

Terminology may be slightly off, since I'm using the Dutch version of Word.

The easiest way is to turn off "spell checking while you type" in Tools/Options..., Spelling and Grammar.

It's also possible to edit the right-click menu:

Select Tools/Customize...

In the Toolbars list, check Context Menus. You'll see a small toolbar with Text, Tables and Drawing.

Click on Text to expand it, then click on Spelling. You'll see the context menu for Spelling.

Activate the Commands tab in the Customize dialog.

Select Edit in the Categories list.

Drag Paste from the Commands list to the Spelling context menu.

Repeat if you want to add other commands.

Close the Customize dialog.[/list]BTW, Cut, Copy and Paste are in the default Spelling context menu in Word 2002, but I'm aware that getting Office XP is not an option for you.

You could also use Customise to add Paste to the error correction menu.

    Hi Legare:
In addition to those suggestions, if you set Tools/Options/Edit tab/Smart cut & paste, you will avoid at least some of those spelling errors, as Word will keep a single space between words.

Thanks. After I figured out that it is called "Shortcut Menues" in the Toolbars list, not "Context Menues", I have added Cut/Copy/Paste to the Spelling menu. I am now happy.

Sorry about the confusion. I was trying to translate back from Dutch into English.
