Language Selector? (XP)

    Hi,

The OffXP Lang. Selector (as shown here) has dissapeared off one of our PCs - how do I bring it back?

    TIA,

    m.q.

As far as I know, that is not an Office feature, but a Windows feature.

Right click an empty part of the task bar, select Toolbars, then Language bar.

    - or -

Open the Regional Settings control panel, select the Languages tab, click Details... Click the button labeled something like Language bar. You can specify whether language settings appear in the task bar.

(Edited by Klaus Linke on 25-Apr-03 17:59. thought the Office settings had an influence -- should have checked before posting)
The selector only appears if you have more than one language keyboard installed in Windows. It had me confused once after I removed everything but the German keyboard that I wasn't able to choose the language using the selector any more.

I usually have several "keyboards" for different languages installed (German/French/English/Spanish...), but all using the same layout. That way, I can switch between languages easily, and Word uses the correct dictionaries.
Only for Greek and Cyrillic, I use the special keyboard layouts.
