    Private Workbook? (2002 / '97)

I've created a workbook in Excel 2002 and it's been emailed to a number of organisations that we work with. One of them is complaining of an error message saying that this is a "private workbook" and that they need to use a de######. Any ideas? (And when will Microsoft learn to explain their error messages in the help files?!?)

Thanks in advance for any help...

Does the workbook contain any VBA code?

I guess it is best that you ask them to make a screen copy of the error message then (alt-printscreen to copy the error, then they can paste it into a Word document). Then ask them to press debug and send you a screen copy of what they get then.

Solved it! Turns out the user wasn't actually reporting what they were seeing, so no wonder we were confused. They were seeing the code of a Private Sub - hence the "Private Workbook" thing. I should have guessed, really.

The actual error message was "Can't find Project or Library" because there's some references to the Word 2002 object library in my code. Obviously without Word 2002 on the user's machine, my code falls over.

    Thanks anyway!
