    Print Table (2000)

Hi - I have to print my table in datasheet view - I added 3 fields today - now, no matter how I set the printer up, it will only print the fields I did prior to today on one sheet, and the 3 I added today on another sheet.

    What am I doing wrong?

Isn't this just a matter of column widths, paper size and page orientation? What happens if you make the columns in datasheet view narrower?

BTW, why don't you create a report based on the table? Then, you can create any layout you like.

    Re: Print Table (2000)

You would think so, wouldn't you? I have to print the table as it appears on the screen to turn in for homework. I've changed the margins, the paper size, the paper orientation, column widths - the only solution I can think of is - is there a way to wrap the text in the column headers? I can't find a way, but then I can't find alot of things these days!

Just seems weird - just like the world today, I guess.

Thanks for trying - maybe it's just not my day.

You have a terrific Earth Day -

    Ta

If you don't want to go the report route suggested by Hans, select the entire table so all records highlight, Select Copy, paste the data in Excel, Row 1 ColumnA, and then print. You can manipulate the data in excel for printing and wrap text, etc. This may be a quick work around.

I'd do that in a heartbeat except that my professor (actually, I confess, it's my niece's professor) wants to see THE table as it appears in Access. Too bad for me and her - she's getting it printed on 2 pages. That's how it goes.

    Thanks for the suggestion, though.

    HAPPY EARTH DAY!

.. If you must print what is on the screen, try using Alt Printscreen (Press Alt and Printscreen) at the same time and paste the object in Word. You can adjust the print from there. (I.e., crop it, enlarge it, etc.)

She'll know - it's cool - thanks for all your input. I'm sure no one else could do it either - it probably can't be done.

    Anyway - thanks again!

    Re: Print Table (2000)

One solution to your problem might be to change the font size the table appears in when you do a print preview - that also affects printing. I presume you are talking about the data view of a table and not the design view - the only way I know to print the design view is to use the Print Screen approach Gary suggested.

    Re: Print Table (2000)

I also changed the font size and then adjusted all the column widths accordingly. It's cool . Thanks for the reply. While I'm talking with you, and your signature indicates you are an "Access" man - I have more trouble trying to create a query where I have to tell Access to look through lots of words for specific words - i.e., I have 3 records to search. Two of them have a field called "notes" and both have the words "all merchandise" - one does NOT have those words. What the @)(#*$*$ do I enter into the criteria????????

    Thanks again,

    Linda

Is this your query or your niece's? :-)

Try using --> like "* All *" <-- (e.g., looking for the word - All)

My niece's - BUT - helping her is certainly helping me. And boy, did your email help my addled brain - I always forget to surround the word with asterisks when that's necessary - you get a gold star in your crown for this one !

    Have a great day
