Lassoing fields on a form (Access 2000)

Have a brief question. Is there an option to turn on/off the lasso feature of dragging the mouse around a form field and its label to select both? Have a situation where (it has always worked before) the lasso feature seems to fail. Can always use the Shift key and select or drag down or across the ruler, but what could have happened to the lasso feature?

Do you mean the first option in the Forms/Reports tab of Tools/Options...? You can specify whether you can select a control by lassoing part of it.

Not really. I gather what that option is for, and understand its purpose. But the student who called me is trying to lasso and even if this fully or partially option is checked...he should be getting something highlighted...he's getting "nothing", "nil", "zippo" to highlight.
    Any other ideas friend?
    Thanks

Apart from recommending Detect and Repair, no, I'm afraid.

(I would want to see this with my own eyes - sometimes the description of a problem given by a user is not accurate)
