Form opens very slowly (Word 2000)

I have a form created in Word 2000. It is just under 1Mb. Even when on my hard drive, it takes almost a minute to open a a 2Ghz machine.

It does have a bunch of options buttons (probably over 100), which was my guess for why it opened so slow, but was not sure.

Any ideas why it opens slow AND what I can do about it?

    Thanks!!

100 options buttons is an awful lot (and far more than you should ever present to a user in one form), but one minute to load sure sounds awfully slow.

Make a copy of your project to play around with.
In this copy, delete 50 of the option buttons, save it, close it and run it - does this affect the speed for it to open?
Do this again and delete 25 more of the option buttons, then run a speed test again.

Does your project contain a reference to anything else unusual (for example a reference to an excessively large global template)?
