    'Replace' in MS Access reports (2000)

    I have reports that are generated with dozens of fields by month for 2002. The query for these reports houses the exact field names for 2002 and 2003 with the exception of the year

    ie - [SumOfGAJan02] becomes [SumOfGAJan03]

    How can I update the 2002 report like an "Edit Replace" to make it a 2003 report without entering every field and making that change in the properties box???

    BTW: in the queries I change to SQL View... copy the data to update... paste into WORD... and replace the data with an "Edit-Replace"... and paste back into SQL View. (works very well without a lot of thinking)
    There is always a way.

    You're just looking to save keystrokes, right?

    Something like this:

    For each ctl in me.controls
    If ctl.controlsource="something" then
    ctl.controlsource="something else"
    End If
    Next ctl

    HTH,

    There are several "find-and-replace" add-ins, for instance Find and Replace from Rick Fisher Consulting (Access only, free 30 day trial download) and SpeedFerret from Black Moshannon Systems (Access, SQL Server, Visual Basic; more expensive).
