    Uninstall string

I want to know if moving a setup log & deleting it's folder will prevent me from uninstalling an application later on.

I just installed Spam CSI - Crime Scene Investigator Version 3.6. During install, I changed the default installation folder from "Spam CSI - Crime Scene Investiator" to just "Spam CSI". It installed into that folder, but also created a "Spam CSI - Crime Scene Investiator" folder containing a single file called "Spam CSI - Crime Scene Investigator Setup Log.txt".

    The registry contains the entry

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionUninstallSpam CSI - Crime Scene Investigator3.6

Can I do the following 3 things:
    1. Move the Spam CSI - Crime Scene Investigator Setup Log.txt to my folder, "Spam CSI".
    2. Delete the Spam CSI - Crime Scene Investiator" folder.
    3. Change the registry uninstall string to to Spam CSI3.6 (or whatever I need to)

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Uninstall string

Phil, that should work just fine - as long as Windows knows where to find that log file for an uninstall. Of course the usual applies, back up the registry key, make note of the original location so you can restore it, et al. Good luck!
