Frequency/data set (2000/XP)

I have a professor who needs help. She sent me a spreadsheet and needs to know how many respondents answer #1, #2, #3 to each of the questions. She mentioned that she wanted to figure out the frequencies. Is this the same as a histogram? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks. See attached.

Do you have access to a statistical analysis program such as SPSS, SPlus or SAS (there are others, too)?

If so, you can import the spreadsheet into that program and create frequency tables with a few mouse clicks.

If not, post back.

Re: Frequency/data set (2000/XP)

If you put the possible values 1, 2, 3,4,5 in the cells BI1 : BM1
Then put the formula in BI2

=COUNTIF($B18:$BG18,BK$1)/COUNT($B18:$BG18)

you will have the percentag of #1 responses to question 1.
Copy this formula into the range
BI1:BM41
And each row will be the percentage of responses for each question for the value in the column headings 1-5 (in row1)

I did put a request in to have SPSS installed on her computer. Until then I will try Steve's suggestion.
