Popup Toolbar (Word 2000)

You know how when you select a picture in Word, the Picture toolbar displays? and then disappears when you move off of the toolbar? I want to create a toolbar like that when the user is in a table. Anyone know how to do that?

I don't know if a simple way. You can write a VBA program to detect when the user has clicked in a table, but you basically need to be "watching" all the time.

If you search here (Word & VB boards) and in the online help for the Application event WindowSelectionChange, you can find some examples of how to monitor the selection.

Then, you simply need to check whether the user is in a table:

If Selection.Information(wdWithInTable) Then

    and show the toolbar:

CommandBars("MyTableBar").Visible = True

and if the user is NOT in a table, you hide it:

Else
    CommandBars("MyTableBar").Visible = False
    End If

There's probably a more efficient way to do this, but if this works, you then can take it to the next level.
