    Prefetch (WinXP Pro)

I was reading about a registry tweek that disables Prefetch by setting the Value to 5 would speed up Boot time quite a bite. What is your feelings on this and do you think it would do any damage. One guy recomended setting it to a value of 1. You can read about it Here

You can download a little program Here that will clear Prefetch or gives you different Prefetch settings.

I tried all settings but with a high speed connection it made so little a difference, I opted for boot only (2).

    Cowboy,
I've been using that little prog for some time now and have it set to just prefetch the boot file. Works fine and keeps the prefetch folder clean. <img src=/S/groovin.gif border=0 alt=groovin width=21 height=21>
