    User Profile size (XPP)

Is there something in the User Profiles other than preferences & settings that makes it 3+GB in size - at least compared to the others?

Haven't paid much attention to the profile size, Bruce, until this question. On my machine which has had XP Pro "in service" for about 15 months, my every-day-use profile is in the 300 MEG range. All the others are considerably smaller. Have you done a *.* search of that directory to see if some stray "temp" file or files is in there? I'd be curious to see what the biggies are. In mine, the largest files are a group of JAR files in the 200K range each and I didn't try to see what they really are for.....

My Documents is part of your profile. Uunless you have set up your applications to store their documents somewhere else, chances are that a lot of your documents are in My documents or one of its subfolders, and thus in your profile.
