This is a repeat of a post from the W2000 forum. My company decided to let me skip 2000 in my upgrade from 98. I'm going straight to XP or straight to confusion.

In my 98 config.sys 98 I use [menu] selections to allow me to run a selection of configurations depending on where I am.
Menuitem=Undocked_Subst,Undocked_Subst - AC Power Not Docked. J: Subst for D:
Menuitem=AC_No_Subst,AC_No_Subst AC Power Not Docked J: Not subst for D:
Menuitem=Battery,Battery - Battery Power Not Docked J: subst for D:
Menuitem=Office,Office - AC Power Docked. Not subst J: for D:

In my 98 Autoexec.bat I have:
@ECHO OFF
PATH=%PATH%;CCommand;DOS
goto %config%
:Undocked_Subst
C:WINDOWSCOMMANDSubst J: D:
goto Win98
:AC_No_Subs
goto Win98
:Battery
C:WINDOWSCOMMANDSubst J: D:
goto Win98
:Office
goto Win98
:Win98
win

How can I most easily do this in XP? I'm most interested in having the ability to select at startup whether or not I want to map my local D: drive to J: (subst J: D or log on to a network where the network data drive is J:.

Thanks!
