    Monitor Blacks Out

I have a Toshiba 3480CT with an external Micron CRT. Al of a sudden, the monitor has started to repeatedly black out while I am in the middle of my work. It seems to be going into power save mode. This happened withou me changing anything. After it happened, I've tried to alter Toshiba's Power Mgmt settings (which override the Windows power savings scheme) and the power save on the monitor itself. Running Scandisk from comd mode didn't help either. What could have gone wrong?? And how can I prevent my work from being interrupted all the time? Thanks!

    Re: Monitor Blacks Out

    Hi Randy:
I'd try the simplest approach first. Check the cable connections--unplug & reconnect. I'd also open the case & clean out the dust. (I know it's a hassle with all the wires that are attached. I even half to crawl on the floor & squeeze between two desk legs.) <img src=/S/groan.gif border=0 alt=groan width=16 height=15>

    Re: Monitor Blacks Out

Sounds like a Power Supply problem to me. I have seen several articles stating the same problem. They said they tried installing new Drivers, Checking cables, Video Card Seating, Changing Resolution and refresh rates and a different Video Card and still had Monitor Blackouts.I know you can't do all those things with your Laptop. So I say check your Computer Power Supply and the Power to the Monitor itself..One other thing try disabling Screensaver.
