    Scheduled backup failures

I've been having trouble with scheduled weekly backups that work fine for a number of weeks, then stop running without warning. It's happening on 2 computers, on 2 different Windows 2000 peer-to-peer networks, in 2 different, unrelated organizations. In both cases the backup is configured to backup data files from multiple computers, using the Windows 2000 backup program (ntbackup). The backups are running as the user that is logged in to each computer. When the backups stop working, there are no reports or error logs. The scheduled job still shows up in the backup program, and everything looks OK, but it no longer runs.

When I recreate the backup job, it will work for a few weeks, then fail again. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Have you checked your Services to see if Task Scheduler is set to Aoutomatic?

I hadn't checked this, but I just did, and yes, it is.
