Outlook, New email, Word, Default Language

I use Outlook 2000 with Word as my email editor. When I click on NEW (mail) WORD starts OK but the default language is always English(US). I double click on the language box and change it ot English(Australia) and click on default to force it to stay that way. I complete my email and send it.
BUT the next time I create an email the default language has reverted to English(US)!!!
I do not have this problem when I use Word to create a document, my default language is Australian and it stays that way!
Any ideas why it changes in Outlook? Any way to stop it?

open the email.dot template and change it to AU and save. you may have two email.dot's - change both.

Re: Outlook, New email, Word, Default Language

    Hi MAry,
I have one file called Email.dot. When I click on it to open it up, WORD opens up an empty file called document1.(The usual default name) The same happens - opens a blank WORD document - if I try to open it with NOTEPAD. The email.dot file is 13k so it's not empty. So I don't quite understand (1) how can I edit up the email.dot file and (2) what do I then change?

    Your help is appreciated.

    John
