Re: Express Browser vs. Avant Browser (Express Browser

If you read the fine print. Express Browser is freeware for only 30 days. After that it is $14.95. Avant Browser has been in version 7.0.5.2 for almost two months. New and improved version 8 is expected any day. :-) I have used it but many users report a high percentage of usage of system resources when using it.

Avant Browser. If you go to their forum pages and do a search you will find pages of complaints about that feature.

    Express Browser vs. Avant Browser

I'm wondering if anyone has tried Express Browser http://www.click2.com.au/eb/download.html from 2click.com. I just downloaded Avant Browser, but haven't tried it yet. They both sound similar & both are based on the IE engine.

Thanks, Jay. I actually have the paid version of Express Browser, but it leaves some things to be desired. When you say some users report a high percentage of resources when using "it", are you talking about EB or Avant Browswer?

Re: Express Browser vs. Avant Browser

    Hi, Phil ~

I did a search for 'resources' on all 9 Avant boards for the last 999 days and came up w/ 37 results of which only a handful were actual complaints regarding such and most were not strictly browser related but rather influenced by other issues.

As I write, I have 26 instances of Avant running using less 'resources' as indicated by the TM process tab than I do with 2 of IE6SP1.

    Thanks, Bruce. I will try it--that's the only way I'll really find out. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
