Printing without one reviewer's markup (Word 2002)

Here's the situation: I have a document that 2 people have made changes to - I'll call them Joe and Mary. On the reviewing toolbar, under "Show", I can uncheck Joe's changes, so his markup bubbles disappear showing only Mary's markup. Print preview correctly shows just Mary's changes, which I want to, of course, print! However, printing only prints all or none of the markup, not one person's markup like it shows me in the preview. Is there a way around this?

Thanks for any help you might offer.

I don't have Word 2002 so I am just guessing here that there is no way to do what you are asking unless you reject the revisions from the author that you don't want to print before printing the revisions.

You could create a macro to do this, then print and close the file without saving to retain both sets of revisions.

Re: Printing without one reviewer's markup (Word 2002)

It's not that I don't want to print the revisions themselves - more, I don't want to print the "markup" of one person. I simply want to print was is in print preview when you uncheck a user in the "show" section of the reviewing toolbar. Any more suggestions? Unfortunately, I can't find anything in MSKB about this, or on the Internet.. maybe no one else wants to print one person's markup only? Or did I miss it somewhere that this is not possible and print preview is incorrect by design?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Andy:
I don't have Word 2002 either. I suppose you could make a backup copy of the document, reject all the changes from one person (skipping the other person) & then printing the document. Then you could undo everything & accept only the other persons changes & print the document. Not a great solution, I admit, but it should work. The backup is in case it doesn't. <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>
